Running Workout

Enough is enough already I’m ready to get fit again! Sometimes I find myself in this rejuvenated mind frame multiple times throughout the years, usually around the beginning of a new year. I would say for the past 20 years I have fluctuated with my fitness level but have always maintained an exercise regimen of working out 2-3 days per week on average.
I am currently at my highest recorded weight ever. For fear of failing to lose weight this time around, I will not submit my weight on this blog post. However if things go well over the next couple months and I start seeing a decrease on the scale then I will make an updated post with my stats.
I decided the best way to get fit also includes having the right tools. I purchased the following items to help jumpstart my motivation level.
New gym bag around $10
www.walmart.com

New t-shirt around $5

Tsuretobe Women's Ankle Yoga Leggings around $17
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BLT58BJ

New Cloudform Adidas Running Shoes around $80

Gold's Gym Waist Trainer about $10

Pink Flamingo water bottle from Target Dollar Spot $3

All of these items are not necessary for the novice worker-outer but definitely helps lift the motivation level to get moving!
Along with a great exercise routine also comes an amazing diet. This post will not be about my current diet or eating plan.
I am currently completing the Couch to 5K running program (C25K) which slowly builds up my endurance through an app on my phone to get me off the couch and running a 5K program within 8-12 weeks (give or take a week due to illness or injury).
My current schedule is to run 3 days per week with a rest day between each running day, for instance I run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s. Then I complete resistance training/weight lifting on Tuesdays (upper body) and Thursdays (lower body). Generally I run indoors at the YMCA on a treadmill. And on Saturdays I choose an aerobic workout different than running, like using the elliptical machine, stationary bike or rowing machine.
If anyone is familiar with C25K, I am on week 2 day 1, so technically today is my 4th day of running. Jason (my husband) and I completed C25K about 8 years ago and we ran a handful of 5K races. My goal is to complete a few 5K races this summer.

Please see where you can buy all of these tools I’ve mentioned below. And if you are interested in me explaining my workout routine more in depth let me know in the comments below. I’d be happy to share.
Cheers and Happy Exercising

Topiary Dreams

As many of you know I work from home as a nurse answering and triaging patient calls. Which means some days I don't even set foot outside unless I'm walking to and from my mailbox. It's not the norm, just can happen some times especially during the winter months.
Commercial Silk

I don't have much greenery in my home to help break up the color or to give me that outdoor feel. I have also never been much of a "real" house plant type of girl either. Not because I cannot keep plants alive, but because I don't care for all the little insects that manifest from them.

We have had a couple house cats in the past and I was never sure which plants were safe and harmless around pets. My hubby feels the same, he doesn't have a strong attraction to house plants either. I know a match made in Heaven right??

Commercial Silk
After being contacted by a representative from Commercial Silk offering me try out any of their extensive topiary, hedges or outdoor collection, I was all in and agreeable to the process.
I picked out the Tea Leaf Double Ball Topiary and was please after getting the package quickly (within 2-3 weeks). The topiary looks so beautiful in my home. I even tried placing the plant in different areas.
Commercial Silk

The Tea Leaf Double Ball Topiary is approximately 22" tall and sits nicely with other decorative items in my home. I am so pleased with my product. I actually received a set of 4 topiaries. I have a 1K Subscriber Giveaway going on my youtube channel right now at https://www.youtube.com/rachelzaleski. Click below to watch my video and enter for a chance to win your very own silk plant.

The plant is lightweight, yet durable. However the plant should be handled by the plant stand verses grabbing the stem and balls. It feels as though the plant could be pulled out of the plant stand with force. There were a few strands of hot glue on my greenery balls that were easily removed by pulling them away from the plant. Overall the plants have been a fun addition and I would recommend at least checking out Commerical Silk's website for more information. The plants were pretty affordable for what you get.

This is a sponsored blog post. I received the topiaries from Commerical Silk. The opinions and text are all mine.
